- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 1/3 water at 90 degrees
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 Tablespoons everything bagel seasoning 1 tablespoon per bagel to taste
In large mixing bowl, add sugar, yeast and water. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes until bubbles form.
Add flour and salt and stir lightly for 1 minute.
Place dough on floured surface and lightly knead dough with hands. Place 1 Tablespoon of olive oil into a medium-sized bowl and add kneaded dough. Cover with a damp towel and let dough rise for 1 hour.
Once dough is doubled in size, cut into 8 even pieces. Roll each piece of dough into a ball by tucking in the edges.
Create a hole in the center of the bagel using your fingers and lightly stretch the hole open about an inch.
Boil water in a large pot, then put the heat to low. Put each bagel in the hot water for 1-2 minutes per side. (The longer the bagel soaks, the chewier the result.)
(optional) Season the bagels with 1 Tablespoon of the Everything Bagel seasoning.
Spray the air fryer basket with oil and place bagels in and cook on 350 for 8 minutes.
