Ingredients for Philly Cheesesteak Sliders include: 1 pound shaved beefsteak, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon smoked paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced, 1 medium white onion, sliced, 8 ounces white or baby Bella mushrooms, stems removed, and sliced, 1 dozen dinner rolls and 2 tablespoons salted butter, 2 teaspoons minced garlic and 6-8 slices provolone cheese.
  • Shaved beefsteak –You can buy it already sliced at your local grocery store or use thin slices of ribeye steak for the best flavor.
  • Worcestershire sauce – Adds a rich kick of flavor to the beef.
  • Seasonings – We used a simple blend of garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to season the beef.
  • Olive oil – Helps sauté the veggies and beef to perfection.
  • Green bell pepper, sliced – Brings a pop of color and a bit of fresh veggie flavor to the beef mixture.
  • White onion, sliced –  Adds extra flavor and texture that complements the beef.
  • White or baby Bella mushrooms – Remove the stems and slice them for hearty addition to the mix.
  • Dinner rolls – I used savory dinner rolls, but you can use sweet Hawaiian dinner rolls if you prefer.
  • Salted butter – Melted and brushed on the rolls to create that irresistible buttery garlic flavor.
  • Minced garlic – Mixed into the melted butter to enhance the rolls with a savory kick.
  • Slices of provolone cheese – Melts perfectly over the beef and veggies, bringing that creamy, cheesy finish we all love.

How to Make Easy Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

Step One: Marinate the Steak

Next process in making Philly Cheesesteak Sliders is to add meat In a large mixing bowl, combine it with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss with tongs to coat the beef. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in the fridge.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shaved beefsteak, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss with tongs to coat the beef. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in the fridge. I like to marinate the steak for about 30 minutes but that’s optional.

Step Three: Sauté Veggies

  • Place a skillet on the stove over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil to the pan.
  • Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet, and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring often, until the veggies are softened.
  • Remove the veggies to a plate and set aside.

Step Four: Cook the Steak

  • Add the remaining olive oil to your skillet, then add the seasoned shaved steak and cook, stirring/turning the meat frequently, until it is browned and cooked through.
  • When the beef is cooked, add the veggies back into the pan and stir everything together, cooking for another 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Step Five: Make the Buttery Topping

  • Place the butter into a glass measuring cup or a small bowl and microwave for 15-20 seconds, or until melted. Add the minced garlic to your melted butter and stir to combine.

Step Six: Assemble the Sliders, Bake and Serve

  • Slice the slab of dinner rolls in half, using a serrated knife, and place the bottom half of the slab onto your prepared baking sheet.
  • Use a pastry brush to brush half of the butter/garlic mixture onto the bottoms of the rolls.

  • Spoon the cooked meat & veggie mixture onto the buttered dinner rolls, spreading the mixture evenly over the surface.

  • Arrange the sliced provolone over the top of the mushroom, caramelized onions, pepper and steak mixture.

  • Place the top slab of the dinner rolls over the cheese, then brush the remaining butter/garlic mixture over the tops of the rolls.

How To Store Leftover Sliders

If you have leftovers, let them cool completely before placing them in an airtight container. You can keep them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When you’re ready to enjoy them again, simply thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through.

Freezer Instructions

These sliders are best when served fresh, but you can freeze them for up to a couple of months. Just wrap the sliders tightly in plastic wrap then with a layer of aluminum foil. Let then thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Variations

  • Cheese – If desired, substitute sliced white American cheese (or even mozzarella) for the provolone. Some versions even heat and pour Cheez Whiz (cheese whiz) over the steak. 
  • Ground beef – If you prefer, you can swap the steak and use ground beef to make these easy cheeseburger sliders.
  • Slider rolls – For a full-size sandwich, simply swap the slider rolls for a full-size hoagie roll.
  • Pepper – We used green peppers, but you can use red, yellow or red bell peppers.
  • Hot peppers  – Add sliced jalapeños, red pepper flakes or banana peppers for a spicy kick of flavor.
  • Spinach or kale – Mix in some fresh spinach or sautéed kale for a boost of nutrition and color.
  • Herbs – Fresh herbs like parsley or basil can be added for a burst of freshness.
